Tim Roberts was born and raised in Kansas. He received a B.A. in art/anthropology and a B.A. in sociology from Bethany College, Lindsborg, Kansas, in 1985, and an M.A. in archeology from the University of Tulsa in 1988. Tim spent several years traveling the United States in support of his career as an archeologist before moving to west Texas in 2000. Tim lives in Fort Davis and works for the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department as the Cultural Resources Coordinator for the west Texas region. He also enjoys creating art.
Tim says of his art: “There is one rule of thumb that governs my work as an artist—it has to be something that I genuinely want to do, something that will maintain my interest from beginning to end. To accomplish this, I look to a variety of inspirations, styles, and media to transform my creative thoughts into something tangible, be it a scratchboard etching, a painting, linocut print, or some other form of art. If I am successful in my efforts, then the creative process is not only a positive, relaxing experience for myself, but I think it also results in a better-quality work of art that can be appreciated by others.” Tim’s artwork has been shown in international, regional, and local exhibitions, and has appeared in various publications. His work is represented at Catchlight Art Gallery, Alpine, and The Rare Find, McPherson, Kansas.
