ARTWALK 2010 Location Information
This year marks our 17th year of celebrating ARTWALK; the board of directors has been very focused on enhancing the experience for the patrons and locations. We have made a few additions to enhance this year’s art experience in hopes that it would boost sales, increase tourism and put heads in beds.
We are re-introducing the ARTCAR PARADE! We are hoping for 17 cars from out of town. It is an important eye candy for all ages, as well as a neat thing that we don’t see everyday. It was huge a success in the past and we are hoping with our support it will be successful again. If you know anyone who has an art car or would like to promote this event please contact: www.artwalkalpine.com
New this year, a children’s art attack area with sidewalk chalking paintings, face painting, and other interactive crafts. If you would like to help or know of someone that might help please contact us at: info@artalkalpine.com
DEADLINE: Please turn in your application on time, there is no guarantee that you will be included in promotional materials or website advertising if your application and fee are not turned in on time. There are publication deadlines approaching soon. Thanks for your cooperation.
This year’s Honored Artist is Boyd Elder. He will have a one-man-show at The Saddle Club. Boyd resides in Valentine, Texas where he has a very successful contemporary art studio. He shows in New York, New Orleans, Texas and abroad. His collectors are extensive.
This year’s entertainment headliner will be the legendary Ray Wylie Hubbard with additional music by local favorites including Matt Skinner and Groupo de La Paz. Our entire musical lineup has not been completed as yet, so stay tuned.
The Artwalk Silent Auction will once again be held at the Granada to benefit the Alpine Public Library. All participating artists will be asked to donate a piece to auction. This event is a great place for visitors to get an overview of the whole event; a good piece in the auction lets people know what they’ll see at your location!
Our mailing list is always being updated and added to. If you have names and addresses that we can add to our mailing list we sure could use them. Please get in touch as soon as possible.
If you would like to volunteer to help with any of our committees or have a great suggestion please feel free to contact Keri Artzt 432-837-3067 or e-mail me at:
Thanks for participating in our greatest event in the Big Bend, I look forward to us all having the greatest ARTWALK ever.
Sincerely,
Keri Artz
