Kiddos

The following information is from ARTWALK 2010:

Gallery Night will have a fabulous addition to their stellar lineup of events and activities this November! Murphy Street is going Kid Kraaazy with interactive fun for the whole family!

Area schools will have their individual Art Attack Galleries for display of student talents along with creative activities the visiting children can participate in! Did I hear someone say there might be a massive collage to play with along with learning how to build a simple solar oven? Ideas are still coming in, so be expecting some very cool updates as time draws near!

The Fandango is a dance and man alive, will we have some wonderful dancers, along with other stage performances all afternoon and into the early evening… both days!

Youth dance troops, including (so far) the ABC Preschool Dancers, Little Tahiti and the Rincon Cultural Academy Baile Folklorico Dancers, will be showing off their considerable skills with scheduled performances, as well as puppet shows, clowns and rib tickling mini plays performed by the SRSU Theater Club.

And that’s only the beginning!

What would a good family street faire be without some Walkabout Art Face Painting and Phantasee Photo Costume Cabaret with instant print photos available? Psst… PPCC even has doggie costumes! OMG!

Other Critters are called for too! To help us out there, the Goat Appreciation Society is going to have a couple of pretty pet-ables on hand and lots of fun information on these friendly and useful beauties.

If you’re going to have critters, a blacksmith is an absolute necessity and the Broken Anvil Blacksmiths will be giving demonstrations in decorative metal working. They will also have a selection of unique wares available for purchase.. Don’t miss this Doodlin’ Hogwallop in action folks! When it comes to ‘hot licks’, that geetar ain’t the only “game” this man gotz!

Portrait artist, Theresa Zelazny, will be displaying some of her exquisite drawings along with giving yarn spinning demonstrations. If we can talk her into it, she might be willing to do a few scheduled portraits, and I’m really hoping for some of her 2die4 fiber arts to be available too. We’ll know more by October and will keep you posted.

I’ve also heard we might have one of those Brinka-Brinka Balloon Bounces the smaller children so dearly love, along with a magician and a clown twisting balloon critters! Is this going to be too much fun, or what?

Lest we forget… Most of the performing groups and schools will have their own fund-raising booths too! I’ve heard rumors of someone doing West Coast style beaded hair wraps even! These guys have some amazing ideas for their fund-raisers and I’m going to leave them to their creativity until time to publish the brochure with performance schedules and list of vendors’ wares due out in October. I’m willing to bet the shopping is going to be a real treat!

Yep, this Gallery Night sideshow is one you won’t want to miss! Keep checking back for updates and watch for brochures to hit the streets in late October to help in planning your activities schedule!
